In the Eastern part is the Great Hungarian Plain and the small Plain is situated in the North-Eastern of the country. The two most important rivers of ours are the Danube (Hungarian reach is 417 km) and the Tisza (598 km), both slicing the country in North- South direction.  Important lakes: Balaton (Lake of Balaton), Lake of Velence. A central range of mountains chain passing through the country.  The Transdanubian Central Mountain: 400-700 m high, West to the Danube. Its parts: Keszthely-Mountain, Bakony, Vértes, Gerecse, Pilis and Visegrád Mountain. North Central Mountain: situated East of the Danube, 500 -1000 m high. Its parts: Börzsöny, Cserhát, Mátra, Bükk, Cserehát and the Zemplén Mountain. Here culminate the highest peak of the country, the Kékes summit (1014 m) in the Mátra mountain.   The Hungarian "puszta" popular tourist attraction, where characteristic animals and ethnographical traditions can be seen at the Hortobágyi National Park (HORTOBÁGY) , in the Kiskunsági National Park (BUGAC, APAJPUSZTA, LAJOSMIZSE ) and the Kincsem Park (in Tápiószecső), at horse shows.
